Essence Tropical Hand Mousse
Last week Essence Malta sent me this dermatologist recommended tropical hand mousse and it quickly and unexpectedly became one of my favourite hand moisturisers!
When I saw it I was certainly intrigued by the fact that it’s a mousse for hand care. I’ve never seen a mousse hand moisturiser before so this certainly got my attention. I always think that a mousse is a fun product, you dispense it, you watch it expand… Is it just me? The packaging of this is really fun and this product has a tropical scent.
So I put some on the back of my hand, watched it expand (because I love watching that haha) and then rubbed it in. It immediately felt very nourishing like there is some nice oil in it.. that I later found out was manoi oil and aloe vera.
Aloe vera is well known as a healing ingredient but I had no idea what this manoi oil is so I went ahead and googled it for you.. here’s what comes up
“Monoï oil is an infused perfume-oil made from soaking the petals of Tahitian gardenias (best known as Tiaré flowers) in coconut oil. Monoï (pronounced Mah-noy) is a Tahitian word meaning “scented oil” in the Reo-Maohi language. Monoï is widely used among French Polynesians as a skin and hair softener.”
Ah sounds so nice… so it’s essentially coconut oil that’s scented with gardenias.
I don’t use a lot of this product and I find that it immediately softens my skin and makes it feel nourished. I like keeping this at my desk and every once in a while I put some on. My hands and cuticles are looking very moisturised.
Since this was sent to me I didn’t know how much it costs but now I’m looking at the Pavi supermarket website and it costs €2.49 for the 50mL can. This is a really good price for such a good quality hand product. Certainly a steal!
All in all, you can certainly tell that I love this product and can highly recommend it. Try it and let me know what you think!
Clarena Marine Slim Salt Peeling
I got this Clarena Marine Slim Salt this weekend when it was recommended to me at a spa. It wasn’t recommended to me as a “here try this, your thighs will look like Heidi Klum’s tomorrow morning”, but more like “this is a good product to promote better circulation”. The lady explained to me that it might help with water retention and I thought I should give it a go.
I didn’t have any expectations or high hopes for this. Between the time this was recommended to me and the time I got it, I quickly made an Amazon price comparison to similar products, and this works out to be an average price per mL.
I tried this scrub as soon as I got home. The lady told me that I should apply it dry and be quite rough with rubbing it over my thighs, and anywhere else I wanted it. The salt in it is very dense and it feels very course when rubbing it in. Since it’s not my face, I’m ok with vigorous scrubbing so I went for it.
Then I rinsed it off with water and this is where the wow came in. When I rinsed this off, it left behind a beautiful moisturising and nourishing residue that hydrated my skin beautifully. I’ve never come across a product that comes close to being a scrub like this — Intense at scrubbing and intense at nourishing.
I’ve used it a couple of more times and I’m honestly blown away by this product. A little goes a long way. That said, I’m not sure what it’s doing for my circulation and water retention (the original reason I got it for). I can’t say that I’ve noticed any difference with anything but I do love it as a nourishing scrub.
I’m extremely happy with this product and I can see myself repurchasing this for life, however, since this is a review, I should mention that I’m not keen on the jar packaging. I don’t like digging my hands into the jar to get the product and I would prefer a squeeze tube, for example.
This is something I highly recommend.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum
Since I bought this and I’m down to the last few drops I thought I’d come on here and mention that I love this Vichy Auqalia Thermal Serum.
When I got this I was after a face serum because from what I understand, face serums have smaller molecules and they are able to penetrate deeper into the skin. My skin is quite strange, it’s sensitive, a bit dry but I also get an oily t-zone. I like my skin to get as much moisture as it can without breaking out.
This serum has thermal spring water that’s fantastic for soothing sensitive skin and it also contains hyaluronic acid that’s deeply moisturising and great at plumping the skin. This serum is very light in texture and feels like I have nothing on when I’m wearing it. I can say that this has improved my skin quite a lot since I’ve been using it. I suspect that my pores have been looking smaller because of the moisture and plumping that this provides.
I love that this product is very affordable yet very effective. This is one that I’ll be repurchasing!

I haven’t done a haul post in quite a while! So here’s what I recently ordered from Amazon.
In August/September time I’m always plagued with shedding hair. When I wash, brush, touch or even look at my hair, it sheds. I saw these Watermans Shampoo and Conditioner in a review and I thought they seem interesting. They seem to be advertised for growing fuller, longer hair but I’m just hoping that it will reduce the shedding. While I was on that Amazon page, Amazon also recommended that I get the hair stimulant oil that you can massage onto your scalp before shampooing. I’m also just interested in reducing the shedding with this.
Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner by Watermans and Hair Stimulant for Growth & Strength
Since it’s pedicure season and I give myself frequent pedicures during summer, I picked up this cute foot soak by The Foot Factory. This is a cheap and cheerful product with very cute packaging but I tried it last night in my foot bath and it doesn’t seem to do much ?
The Foot Factory Foot Soak Lavender and Chamomile
Finally, I couldn’t help myself with this pack of Tonymoly sheet masks. I love Korean skincare, I love using sheet masks because they’re so easy, and these sheet masks are usually about €5 each from anywhere I’ve seen them in Europe. So £10.58 for the full set of 11 of them sounds like a good price for me. Can’t wait to use these 🙂

That’s all for now!
First off, lip balms! I have perpetually dry lips that need constant hydration. No matter how much water I drink, my lips seem to just want to dry out. Here are two lip balms that actually do it for me. The Nuxe Reve de Miel is my night time balm because it’s quite thick and has a bit of a colour to it. It stays on all night and if my lips are a bit chapped, this sorts it out by the morning. The only down side to this is that it comes in a pot.
The second lip balm is one I’ve previously finished and repurchased. It’s the Jack Black intense therapy lip balm in natural mint. I wear this throughout the day because it’s thinner, a bit glossy and completely transparent. Of course, since I’ve repurchased this, it certainly works well for me 🙂
Next up is an eye cream that I really need to rave about. This brand is new to me, Arad. I received this in a PR package along with a few other skincare products from Arad. I love the brand but this cream really takes the cake for quite possibly the best eye cream I’ve ever tried. First off, it’s huge in size and it’s very affordable. Secondly, from the first time I’ve worn this at night, I’ve woken up with beautifully plump skin around by eyes. I’ve worm eye creams that are a lot more expensive than this, and I own a stash of more fancy and expensive eye creams that I receive for PR purposes, but this is the eye cream I put on when I really want to get the job done. It works really well for me.
Next up is this moisturiser from Lierac Paris. I won this in a small blogging competition and since I received it I haven’t stopped using it. I’ve almost finished the jar and I’ll certainly be repurchasing the next jar myself. This is a very light gel-cream moisturiser that simply does the job. It keeps me hydrated, it’s not too rich for me, it’s a moisturiser that’s perfect for my combination skin. It also contains oxygen and since the air in Malta is quite polluted, having pure oxygen in my moisturiser is certainly a plus since it’s an anti-inflammatory, helps collagen production and overall helps the skin to function better.
If you’re looking for some new skincare products, you should certainly consider these 🙂
