Amazon Haul: Hair + Face Masks + Foot Soak

I haven’t done a haul post in quite a while! So here’s what I recently ordered from Amazon.

In August/September time I’m always plagued with shedding hair. When I wash, brush, touch or even look at my hair, it sheds. I saw these Watermans Shampoo and Conditioner in a review and I thought they seem interesting. They seem to be advertised for growing fuller, longer hair but I’m just hoping that it will reduce the shedding. While I was on that Amazon page, Amazon also recommended that I get the hair stimulant oil that you can massage onto your scalp before shampooing. I’m also just interested in reducing the shedding with this.

Since it’s pedicure season and I give myself frequent pedicures during summer, I picked up this cute foot soak by The Foot Factory. This is a cheap and cheerful product with very cute packaging but I tried it last night in my foot bath and it doesn’t seem to do much ?

Finally, I couldn’t help myself with this pack of Tonymoly sheet masks. I love Korean skincare, I love using sheet masks because they’re so easy, and these sheet masks are usually about €5 each from anywhere I’ve seen them in Europe. So £10.58 for the full set of 11 of them sounds like a good price for me. Can’t wait to use these 🙂

Aussie Take The Heat Shampoo and Conditioner

Aussie Take The Heat Shampoo & Conditioner

Aussie Take The Heat Shampoo & Conditioner

I recently ordered this shampoo and conditioner from Feelunique and I love them. They’re by the brand Aussie and as far as I know, these are not available in Malta. I used to use this brand while I was living in the UK and I’ve tried much more expensive hair products but somehow I keep going back to this brand.

Last summer I used to like putting hair mousse in my hair and letting it dry by itself without heat styling it. Since I have a lot of hair, it takes a long time to dry and I hate going about with wet hair during the winter. I started heat styling my hair again and my hair can use all the help it can get!

I tried these out and I love how they work. I still use a heat protection spray with them before I blow dry because I can never get enough protection. I’ve been heat styling my hair since about November and so far I haven’t seen any major damage. I don’t (think I) have any visible split ends but my hair is a little bit dry at the ends. This is probably because I haven’t cut it or trimmed it in 9 months.

These smell amazing and they feel like they do nourish my hair a lot. I do have to wash my hair twice a week because it gets oily. I’m not sure whether these are too moisturising for my hair or not because I seem to have oily roots and dry ends. I probably just need a trim.

Although I like these, I won’t be repurchasing the conditioner. This is because Aussie have a 3 minute miracle hair treatment from the same Take the Heat line and I can use that instead of the conditioner.

Feelunique’s Description:

As cool as a cucumber (or cute man in shades, whatever)

Phew! Is it us or did it suddenly get hot in here? Better cool down those tumbling tresses with Aussie Take The Heat Conditioner.

A treat for tired tresses

All that styling makes for singed hair. So slather. Soothe. Settle. Stroke. Take the heat. It’s like your hair’s getting a big hug from a bottle (and from a nice smelling one too).

Zerreau Shampoo Foam Review — A replacement for dry shampoo?

Zerreau Shampoo Foam

Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam

When I received this foam shampoo in a Glossybox I was quite excited about trying it.

Regarding this product, Glossybox says:

“Zerreau saves time, effectively cleans hair and leaves no residues! Zerreau is also available in two delicious fragrances: Strawberry and Apple.Zero water or rinsing required, it effectively cleans your hair leaving it silky soft & clean. No alcohol or parabens, infused with delicate scents and with no sticky residues

To use: All you need to do is apply the kind and gentle foam directly to the scalp, massage to lift dirt and grease then whilst wet and soapy, remove by thoroughly towel drying.”

The full size product of this costs £7.95 but this travel size is sold on for £3.99. I’ve never heard of a foam shampoo that can be used to clean the hair without using water. The product name seems to be a portmanteau of the French “Zero Eau” (zero water, in case you can’t French). It’s targeted towards people who go to festivals and can’t access a shower to wash their hair.

I thought great, when I style my hair, I like to make it last a day or two longer by using a dry shampoo to tackle some grease. I’m not a big fan of using dry shampoo and I only rarely use any. I’m a fan of washing and cleaning my hair with water, shampoo and conditioner. But I was still intrigued by this product to see how it compares to dry shampoo.

First off, the smell is incredible. I got the apple scented one and it smells heavenly. It’s a foam (of course) and the bottle and applicator are quite sleek and nice looking.

So I gave it a go. Pumped a little of this product into my hand and applied it to the roots of my hair. I applied it in the same motion I would apply regular shampoo while in the shower. I didn’t over do it since despite it being called “Zerreau”, it does have eau in the ingredients. My hair style wasn’t going to be happy, I knew it. I dampened my roots with the product and towel dried… And towel dried… And towel dried…. And towel dried some more.

The result? Greasier looking hair than before.

I towel dried some more and when my hair felt dry to the point where it won’t get dryer than that, my roots just felt more dirty and more greasy than before. But it smelt good.

My hair style? Phah! My hair wasn’t frizzy, but I couldn’t do without washing my hair after this.

I tried it two more times but in the end I have to declare this product a big miss. I did wonder whether I wasn’t using it correctly but I read about it online and I couldn’t see anything wrong with my method. I read other reviews and others have had the same issue with it.  It smells good but it doesn’t serve its purpose. The Batiste dry shampoo I use  at least gets rid of the greasy look and although my hair doesn’t feel clean, it keeps the style I’m trying to preserve.

You can check out what else I got in the Glossybox that I received this product with down below. It has my first impressions of the product and other products I received with that Glossybox. Oh, and some bonus bloopers.

I hope you found this review helpful.
