TMI Tag! Get to know me

I’ve been tagged!
Caroline from the blog Diva Inside tagged me to do this TMI tag. I must have done this some time ago but I’m pretty sure that my answers need updating. So here I’ll be answering 45 questions about me. Here goes..

25. Do you have any fears? What they are?
My biggest fear is the fear of growing old and not having enjoyed my life. It’s important to me that I enjoy the most part of every single day. I always do my best to find out what I enjoy doing and trying to do more of that.

26. What’s the last thing that made you cry?
A boy probably.

27. Meaning behind your Blog Name?
As people we’re multidimensional.
I spent most of my adult life in pursuit of knowledge and the truth.
Zeza is my alter ego. She’s in pursuit of beauty.

Zeza is the Maltese shortened version of the name Tereza (Therese in English). The name reminds me of a very down to earth woman from a small Maltese village. Zeza doesn’t care about what people think when she goes all out on a makeup look, or wears a bright or strange coloured lipstick. In reality, I certainly don’t feel comfortable going to work wearing crazy makeup looks, but Zeza is the badass who can wear anything.

So yeah, this is a blog about Zeza’s pursuit of beauty, and the beautiful things she likes.

28. Last time you said you loved someone?
Ages ago.

29. Last book you read?
The last book I read is a book about business. The last book that Zeza read is The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. Amazing book!

Into the Water, also by Paula Hawkins.

31. Last show you watched?

32. Last place you were?
In my bedroom.

33. Last sport you played?
The last sporty thing I did was jogging. The last team sport I played was ages ago! Probably basketball in school.
But if you count bowling as a sport… I’ve done that recently.

34. Who’s the last person you talked to?
I had a conversation with my mum about the Essence Tropical Hand Mousse that I posted about recently.
I got her to try it and she said that her hands feel silky smooth haha.

35. Last song you sang?
I only sing on special occasions. That said, I don’t remember the last time I sang.

36. Favorite chat up line?
How you doin’? (think Joey from Friends)

37. Do you have a crush?

38. The relationship between you and the person you last texted?

39. Favorite food?

40. Place you want to visit?
Bali in Indonesia. It’s been one of my dream places to visit for quite a while now.

41. What’s the last time you kissed someone?
Does my cat count?

42. Last time you were insulted?
I got some drama on Instagram recently from a girl who was telling me control my bf. The thing is that he’s not my bf anymore so um.. I had nothing.

But really, I don’t get insults thrown my way very much I guess.

43. Favorite flavor of sweet?

44. What instruments do you play?
Piano and flute.
I once tried playing the ukulele… I learnt a few songs and that was it.

45. Favorite piece of jewelry?
A pair of earrings that I got from Ponte Vecchio in Florence.

Tarte Lash Delights Eye Essentials Lash Curler

Tarte Lash Delights Eye Essentials Lash Curler

I recently got this Tarte Lash Delights Eye Essentials Lash Curler and honestly I got it just because it’s a very pretty lash curler. When I received it, my first impression was that it’s more well made and sturdy than I thought it was going to be. Those studs on the handle aren’t going anywhere. It looks good in the photos, and it looks great in real life as well.

Since it’s an actual functional took (not just a decorative piece), I obviously tried it out with very low expectations in mind. Then I was seriously blown away by the fact that this actually curls my lashes beautifully. The curling pad that comes with this is rigid yet soft, it produces a nice natural curl and it holds the curl.

Sometimes people find issues with lash curlers being too wide for their eyes, I would say that width-wise, this is a pretty standard size as a lash curler. It’s not specifically designed to be wider or narrower (I believe).

All in all I’m very positively surprised by this. I can highly recommend it if you’d like a pretty lash curler that’s also functional.

Pupa Milano Made to Last Lip Duo in Opulent Red

Pupa Made To Last Red Lip Duo Glossy

Pupa Made To Last Red Lip Duo Glossy

With Christmas right around the corner I’m in the mood for a great red lipstick. Recently, Pupa Milano sent me this Made To Last lip duo in Opulent Red and today I thought I’d try it out. It has a matte red liquid lipstick on one side and a glossy top coat on the other side. You can wear it either matte or glossy, and from my experience it’s very comfortable to wear both ways. The matte lipstick isn’t too drying and it absolutely does not budge!

The glossy top coat makes the red much more vibrant. You can see the glossy lip on the top picture and the matte lip in the pictures below. I thought I liked the matte lip better but looking at these pictures, I’m loving the glossy lip more now. I’m definitely getting into gloss! It’s so vibrant and Christmassy.

If you’re into a glossy red lip, this is a really fantastic choice. If you wear red lipgloss, you risk getting it all over your face (even with simply having single strands of hair getting stuck to it with the wind). With this duo, the red pigment is adhered to your lips, and the gloss sits on top.

I was in a brave mood today and I wore the glossy version to go for a fenkata in Mgarr. I must say that this stayed put and did not budge. It looked good even after I devoured my Fenek bit-tewm but I was quite careful to not smudge it all over my face. When I got home, I wanted to remove it, so that I don’t have to think about smudging it everywhere, and it was quite difficult to remove with my micellar water. It eventually came off, but I am really impressed with its longevity.

I do wish that I took a close up photo of the glossy look as well. But I thought that this was my favourite version of the lipstick.

I’ll be wearing the glossy version of this lipstick all throughout December. This is yet another fantastic product from Pupa Milano.

December Plait Box Revealed!

December Plait Box

December Plait Box

This month’s Plait box contains 2 full size product, 1 travel size and 2 good sized sample products and a 10% off voucher from Chemimart. I calculated that the total value of all the products in this box come up to around €43.28 which is way more than the price of the subscription. If you’d like to subscribe to the Plait beauty box, you can do so here:

Let’s look at the products that I got in this month’s box!

Tangle Teezer Salon Professional Detangling Hair Brush Wet & Dry

Price: €13.75

If you’ve never owned a Tangle Teezer it’s about time you did! 😀
I own a couple of Tangle Teezers and they are really fantastic brushes. This one says that it is Wet & Dry, I don’t know whether this is any different to Tangle Teezers that I already own (it doesn’t look like it to me) but this is a very good brush to get out those difficult knots and a spare one is always welcome 🙂 I love the colour of this one, it’s a beautiful purple from the top and a bright pink from the other side.

PUPA Milano Nail Art Mania Messages

Price: €14

I absolutely love PUPA Milano as a brand but this isn’t something I would see in a shop and buy for myself. It’s a box that contains a nail polish (I got pink) and a few sheets of stickers that have letters, numbers and symbols on them. I got this photo from to show you an idea of how this works.

The nail polish by itself might look cute on my toes in summer. I think I would have preferred if I got a polish in a different colour (maybe black).

That said, this looks like it’s easy enough to use so if you’re into the idea of having little stickers on your nails, this might be for you. I’ll either give this away or try it out on an adventurous day 🙂

Biotherm Biosource Balm-to-Oil

Full size 125mL: €26.30 (according to
Received 10mL: €2.10

This is a product I’m really excited about trying! It’s a deep cleanser and makeup remover that comes as a balm and when you rub it on your face, it becomes an oil. I’ve seen one of these from Clinique before and I’ve been meaning to try one out.

Payot  Lotion Tonique Revéil

Full size 200mL: €19.50 (according to
Received 30mL: €2.93

This is a toning lotion that seems like it would work nicely after removing makeup with the Biotherm Balm-to-Oil. I’m not quite sure what makes it stand out from other toning lotions but it is alcohol free (always a plus) and the active ingredients are raspberry and pineapple extracts. Everyone can use a good toning lotion.

L’Occitaine Dry Skin Hand Cream

Travel size 10mL: €10.50

L’Occitaine is a new brand to Malta and it’s a brand I’ve used before and like. This travel size hand cream is great for putting in your handbag in winter to keep your hands from getting dry and cracked.

Final Thoughts

This box is a nice mix of products that go over the value of the price of the box. There’s just one product that I don’t see myself using and unfortunately it’s one of the full size products. I’m excited about trying out the balm-to-oil as a cleanser & makeup remover and the rest of the items are all things I’ll use. If I’m honest, I do miss receiving a (face) makeup product. You all know that I love playing with makeup. Overall I’m happy with this box and looking forward to receiving January’s 🙂

Flormar Snap Star Collection

Flormar Snap Star Collection

Flormar Snap Star Collection

I just got some new Flormar launches from the new Snap Star Collection that just hit the shops in Malta. The packaging is very striking with a black and white stripe theme and a funky neon pink font. At first glance, the two items that I found to be really innovative are the Brow Crayon and the Double Effect Volume and Definition mascara.

I’m sceptical about how I can get my brows to look good using a brow crayon… If I apply it directly from the crayon that is. I’ll have to try this one out but it might be too thick to get precision. My plan is that if it is too thick to apply from the bullet, I will simply use a brow brush with it and try it out that way. The colour I got is a light ashy brown.

The eyeliner is something that didn’t get my attention until I swatched it. It’s called the Waterline Kajal Liner. When I swatched it it felt extremely creamy, and it looked like a liquid eyeliner. This sincerely blew my mind. It then dried down to a matte finish. I haven’t tried this on my eyes yet but it seems like it has potential to have some serious lasting power on my waterline since it dried down really nicely and it was difficult to wipe off. I’ll be trying these two out tomorrow morning and I’ll keep you posted.

I didn’t realize how cool this mascara was until after I was done taking photos so here’s a stock photo of this. This actually has two wands! A wand for the bit that has a step 1 and a wand for the bit that is step 2. What?! I’m not sure what this does but I want to try it 😀 The two wands from one tube of blew my mind a bit. Kind of like a Russian doll mascara 😀 How cool is that?

As for the palette, I was intrigued and thought I’d dig in to try it out. All these shadows seem to be really good quality and it swatched beautifully. It’s quite interesting that it contains a black and a glittery grey/black. I bet it can look really nice for a new year’s eve smokey eye. There are some really nice matte browns and mauves. And I’m really pleased to see a couple of shades that add colour while still being very wearable. The green and the blue would look good on quite a few different skin tones worn on the lower lash line for a pop of colour. That second shade from the left, a kind of old gold, is right up my alley as well. What I miss from this palette is a matte skin colour shade but there is a shimmery nude colour for highlighting. I guess if I use a powder on my lid I can get away with not using a matte skin colour all over my lid.

So far I’m really impressed with how well Flormar did with this line. Flormar prices are very affordable and the quality of their products seems to be very good. I love that they can innovate on things like the mascara packaging. And I am seriously impressed with that kajal liner, I never felt anything like it.

That’s it for now from me. I’ll keep you posted.
