I just got some new Flormar launches from the new Snap Star Collection that just hit the shops in Malta. The packaging is very striking with a black and white stripe theme and a funky neon pink font. At first glance, the two items that I found to be really innovative are the Brow Crayon and the Double Effect Volume and Definition mascara.
I’m sceptical about how I can get my brows to look good using a brow crayon… If I apply it directly from the crayon that is. I’ll have to try this one out but it might be too thick to get precision. My plan is that if it is too thick to apply from the bullet, I will simply use a brow brush with it and try it out that way. The colour I got is a light ashy brown.
The eyeliner is something that didn’t get my attention until I swatched it. It’s called the Waterline Kajal Liner. When I swatched it it felt extremely creamy, and it looked like a liquid eyeliner. This sincerely blew my mind. It then dried down to a matte finish. I haven’t tried this on my eyes yet but it seems like it has potential to have some serious lasting power on my waterline since it dried down really nicely and it was difficult to wipe off. I’ll be trying these two out tomorrow morning and I’ll keep you posted.
I didn’t realize how cool this mascara was until after I was done taking photos so here’s a stock photo of this. This actually has two wands! A wand for the bit that has a step 1 and a wand for the bit that is step 2. What?! I’m not sure what this does but I want to try it 😀 The two wands from one tube of blew my mind a bit. Kind of like a Russian doll mascara 😀 How cool is that?
As for the palette, I was intrigued and thought I’d dig in to try it out. All these shadows seem to be really good quality and it swatched beautifully. It’s quite interesting that it contains a black and a glittery grey/black. I bet it can look really nice for a new year’s eve smokey eye. There are some really nice matte browns and mauves. And I’m really pleased to see a couple of shades that add colour while still being very wearable. The green and the blue would look good on quite a few different skin tones worn on the lower lash line for a pop of colour. That second shade from the left, a kind of old gold, is right up my alley as well. What I miss from this palette is a matte skin colour shade but there is a shimmery nude colour for highlighting. I guess if I use a powder on my lid I can get away with not using a matte skin colour all over my lid.
So far I’m really impressed with how well Flormar did with this line. Flormar prices are very affordable and the quality of their products seems to be very good. I love that they can innovate on things like the mascara packaging. And I am seriously impressed with that kajal liner, I never felt anything like it.
That’s it for now from me. I’ll keep you posted.
